Photography took on a new importance to me in 2018, when a loved one unexpectedly passed away. It was sudden and heartbreaking, but one of the things that has helped me throughout the years is looking back at all the photos I had of him. Going through that experience helped me realize that photos can mean more than just being a creative expression. They also serve as lasting tangible proof of the life that someone lived. Photography has become a way for me to preserve moments, and this newfound appreciation for life and how temporary it can be, naturally found it's way into my wedding photography. I believe the day two people swear themselves to each other is one of the most beautiful things, and being there to capture the memories of it is a responsibility I take very seriously. Being able to give people evidence of their moments and existence together feels like such a gift. Knowing that I can capture two people's love, that they can look back on for the rest of their lives is overwhelmingly beautiful to me.
I believe that all of our life experiences can be funneled into our passions if we take time to learn lessons from them. I view photography in that way. I have spent a lot of time doing a lot of things that I ultimately bring back into what I do when capturing elopements.
I am a "self taught" photographer working full time since 2018. I spent the last few years photographing traditional weddings, concerts, along with model editorials. Spending time photographing models has taught me how to see people's features and quickly learn their best angles. This is something I am aware of when I am photographing you, but you don't have to worry about at all! Concert photography is about catching a moment the split second it happens, knowing it cannot be repeated. I view elopement photography similarly, in that authentic small moments are happening all the time, and it is my responsibility to catch them.
I absolutely love having multiple different outlets to sharpen my skills and believe that makes me uniquely skilled to be your elopement photographer!
